With the Certificate from NAI for $600 or with no certificate for $275 Students must attend all sessions synchronously to qualify for certificate. This course is a total of 10, three-hour sessions, Tu/W/T: Sept 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, Oct 1, 2, 3 PLUS Oct 8, 2-5 pm PDT, USA.

Classes are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from September 17th to October 3 PLUS October 8th for a total of 10 classes from 2 pm - 5 pm PDT/AZ, 3 pm - 6 pm MDT, 4 pm - 7 pm CDT, 5 pm - 8 pm EDT. 10 class meetings total for 30 hours total: 9/17, 9/18, 9/19, 9/24, 9/25, 9/26, 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, 10/8.
This course is a blast! I'll have you crying and laughing and hugging and cheering.
The course is highly interactive and creates a community of learning among the participants. Anyone 16 + is welcome. All skill sets are welcome from total newbie to years in the field to retirees. This course is for anyone who leads talks or programs to audiences including: tour guides, park rangers, educators, clergy, salesforce, coaches and mentors, storytellers, writers, content creators, and more.
The internationally recognized Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) program is designed for anyone in the interpretive field. Whether you’re a new hire, a professional looking to refresh your skills, or beginning a second career, this course will aid you in improving your presentation techniques. The course combines the theoretical foundations of the profession with practical strategies in delivering quality interpretive programming to visitors.
This virtual course includes:
* The history, definition, and principles of interpretation.
* Techniques on how to make your programs purposeful, enjoyable, relevant, organized, and thematic.
* How to use tangible objects to connect your audience to intangible ideas and universal concepts.
A laptop or desktop computer with good internet connection is required—classes are highly interactive on Zoom and with other online resources.

To qualify for the NAI Certificate of Interpretive Guiding, a student must:
1. register and pay $600 through NAI by 9/10/2024
2. Attend all classes synchronously
3. Develop a 10-minute interpretative program and make improvements based on instructor feedback
4. Deliver the 10-minute program at the "meets criteria" level or above
Registration for the certificate closes on 9/10/24. After that date, the certificate cannot be added. Classes require a minimum of 5 students.
